2024 proved to be another busy year at Tekeurope. There was the company’s 20 year anniversary celebrations and new industry partnerships as well as further building improvements and staff arrivals. In this post we look back at 2024.
20th Anniversary
Established back in June 2004, Tekeurope celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024. The company has seen many changes in that time including 2 premises moves, a new managing director and the expansion of the business into new areas including repairs and ecommerce.
To celebrate the occasion staff both past and present as well as customers and suppliers headed into Torquay for a meal and night out.
Other company social events this year included the traditional staff Christmas party.
New Partnerships
In 2024 the company added to its growing list of industry partnerships.
Tekeurope is now an Acer EMEA parts partner in addition to becoming an Acer local warranty provider, further expanding the repair side of the business. In addition to the Acer partnerships the company is also now a Lenovo EMEA spare parts provider, allowing it to source more parts directly from Lenovo for customers.
As well as new partnerships existing accreditations were renewed, with both the ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications renewed in back in November following an audit.
Charity Donations
In what has become a yearly tradition in the runup to Christmas the company made its yearly donation to the Torbay Goodwill Fund. The fund puts together and distributes hampers to vunerable families in the Torbay area at Christmas, consisting of Christmas gifts and food.
This followed a donation of computer equipment earlier in the year to another local charity – ELM Wildlife Hedgehog Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre.
Building Work
A feature of recent years has been the building improvements to the company’s premises in Newton Abbot. In previous years this has included the adding of solar panels as well as the creation of a new meeting and training room.
This continued in 2024 with the addition of a new extraction and ventilation system in the Workshops around the soldering stations.
Staff milestones and new arrivals
Tekeurope has a number of long serving members of staff and in 2024 another one reached 5 years at the company, Finance Assistant Charlie Miarowski. Starting back in 2019 in the Finance Department, Charlie has completed a number of qualifications including his AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting and has become increasingly involved in the import and export side of the business.
2024 also saw a number of new arrivals across the business, in the Warehouse, Workshop, Sales and Finance departments.
