Tekeurope is pleased to announce that work on the installation of our new solar panels is now complete.
Since moving to the new building from Totnes in 2020 a great deal of investment has gone into the new premises. The fitting of the solar panels is the latest stage in the installation of a completely new roof.
The solar array was developed by Westcountry based Energy Consulting & Contracting with the installation taking just 4 days to complete. The work began on a Tuesday and by Friday afternoon the panels were generating the electricity being used in the building.
The setup comprises 186 320W solar modules. Approximately 90% of the generated energy will be used to meet the company’s energy usage demand and will reduce Tekeurope’s carbon footprint by an estimated 16.5 tonnes every year. This was a key part of Tekeurope’s Environmental Plan released earlier this year.
In addition to the environmental benefits there is also expected to be a significant cost saving in terms of spending on electricity which was help to offset the cost of the roof.
The roof is now nearing completion with the next stage involving the fitting of internal LED lighting in the warehouse and offices.
